Gender difference in knowledge of tuberculosis and associated health-care seeking behaviors: a cross-sectional study in a rural area of China

Women were found to be less likely than men to acquire knowledge about TB or to pass it on. If they have a prolonged cough, they are more likely to seek treatment but prefer local, non-hospital facilities. Most men seek care at higher-level facilities.
